Cajun Mutt Press Publishing

Cajun Mutt Press, owned and run by James Dennis Casey IV is a home for artistic expression in its most raw form. They publish works which live within the literary fringe.  The press is run by experienced professionals who are not only poets at heart but welcome poetic expression with open arms with a tell it like it is vibe.  Think Ginsberg, Ferlinghetti, Bukowski... They are the "real deal" in the world of publishing.

Working with them on a book publication was the most effortless and friendly process I have ever experienced.  The books are not only literary treasures but true works of art.  You can visit the bookshop by clicking the link I have provided below.

Poetry Examples:

At the Crossroads
by James Dennis Casey IV

They who seek
Virtue

And kindness

It will be found

They who seek
Hate
And darkness

It will be found

For I
Have been down
Both paths

There comes a time
In every life
For reevaluation
Self reflection

Will you like what you see?

To truly love
One must love
Themselves
First

Perfect imperfections
Make us
Who we are

Whole

Study the lines
Of the face
That run parallel
To the palm

We all have a path
Unique to each
Yet all the same

The wrong roads
Can lead
To the right ones
If we listen
To our hearts
At the crossroads

Never Mind the Zodiac
by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

No way around it,
we are through
it

never mind the zodiac,
there are other
signs

no friends
or family

flooded culverts
of too much
water

my kisses
upon your forehead
in a darkness

we can’t help
but share.

Fried Calamari and Ouzo
by Joanne Olivieri

Watching you
snortin’ lines
between calamari bites
and swigs of ouzo
playing rebetiko
through the night.

You turn and kiss me
calamari ever so sweet tasting
we head to the vette
navigating the city maze
racing neighborhood streets
tires never touching ground.

For a moment I freeze in fear
as the vette sprouts wings, flying
home through stop lights
I feel death is near
my senses, ouzo laiden numb
I turn and smile, we'll die together

YOU, were my addiction.
